We are delighted to share with you a toolkit from the Asia Network to End FGM/C, written by Dr Hannah Nazri, for activists and civil society organisations who are keen to engage with healthcare professionals to end FGM/C in Asia.
“The aim of this toolkit is to provide guidance to activists and civil society organisations to engage with healthcare professionals to end FGM/C in Asia. The toolkit provides detailed explanations of the health complications of FGM/C and how the practice has become medicalised. It proposes concrete strategies to communicate with healthcare professionals in order to educate and raise awareness on the dangers of the practice. It also touches on two common areas of debate: the differences between FGM/C and male circumcision as well as FGM/C and female genital cosmetic surgeries.”
